Touching base on CHOGM activity.
Dear readers,
This morning, Wednesday, there was the understated opening of the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference centre and immediately, all Ministers went into closed door deliberations. I was advised that on the agenda is the critical issues of climate change and the economy and Ministers were said to be is serious discussion on the Harare declaration and an appraisal of its implementation. There were no Media facilities and the planned media brief scheduled for 11am this morning was cancelled. I have been informed by the Commonwealth secretariat, that a press brief will be scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday.
CHOGM Benefits to Trinidad and Tobago
Dear Reader,
As the CHOGM juggernaut rolls slowly into view and all the various activities come into play, I thought it appropriate if I were to address the main messaging that has influenced the educational initiative to youth and the general public with regard to CHOGM.
As spokesperson at the National secretariat I am fully aware that communication is the heart and soul of management at absolutely every level. Without communication skills you cannot hope to express your thoughts, convince others, or negotiate. With good communication skills, you can expect to win arguments, make sales, mediate, educate, inform and even inspire. This is what I have attempted to accomplish over the last few months, helping to organize CHOGM.
Nine (9) days before the official commencement of CHOGM events
Dear reader,
It is just nine (9) days before the official commencement of CHOGM events( the start of the youth forum, from November 22nd to 26th),excluding, the opening of the CHOGM village, which started on Saturday, 14th, and already I am somewhat nervous but very excited at the impending reality that , after all the effort and dialogue, the 21st meeting of Commonwealth heads of government, will actually come to fruition later this month in my home country: Trinidad and Tobago.
